IsraeliJazz project
The IsraeliJazz project was started by the French photographer Raphael Perez in 2018, developed in 2020 and was launched in October 2022.
The project presents Israeli jazz as it is today and how it started in the 1930s. It is a multimedia project that will combine a printed book, events, and a series of exhibitions with a website and social networks.
- The IsraeliJazz book will be printed in 2 languages and released globally in May 2023
- A series of photography exhibitions with a launch in Tel Aviv in October 2022 and a second one in Paris on April 2023.
- An online presence through a new website that will be launched in May 2023, which will offer a continuation and live updates of the book content, as well as through social networks.
The goal of the project is to explain how jazz started in Israel and how this country became a major player in the jazz arena with several hundreds of professional musicians performing globally.
The work has been supported by research made by Raphael Perez in cooperation with musicology specialists from various countries and his own photographic works.
